ELITE PREP ACADEMY
The ELITE PREP ACADEMY is designed to offer graduating Michigan High School players quality competition, high level development, and exposure/ guidance. This team is for 2001 (2002) birth year High School & post grad players.
The Prep Academy plays in high level showcases against Midget Major teams and USA/ Canadian Prep Academy's. Individual development and player advancement are the goals of the program. Players must be highly motivated to develop as both a hockey player and student athlete.
Players will attend either community college or on-line college/ high school earning credits in core classes such as Math, English, Science and Social Studies. Players are expected to earn good grades or their game ice time will be reduced.
Typical Training Schedule: Tuesday/ Thursday
1:00-2:00pm Individual On-Ice Skill Training
2:00-3:00pm Team Practice
3:30-4:30pm Team Off-Ice Training
5:00-7:00pm Study Hall

Q: What is the program coaching philosophy?
A: Players will be held accountable for their work passion levels and play on the ice. Corrective reinforcement generally is accompanied with positive reinforcement.
Q: Is the program coached by professionals?
A: Yes. Coach Slater (playing experience) MSU NCAA D1; National Team; USA Olympic Festival; 7 year professional AHL, BISL; ECHL; ECHL All-Star; Kelly Cup Champion ECHL; Detroit Red Wings Training Camp 2001; (Coaching Experience) College, Junior A, Midget AAA.
Q: Is individual skill development included in the program?
A: Yes. Each training day will consist of 1 hour individual skill development.
Q: Does the team have off-ice workouts?
A: Yes. Each player will have a phone app to record workouts. Workouts are designed from the iCE FiT system created by Mark Slater the former strength/ conditioning coach for the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs of the NHL.
Q: Does the program emphasize scholastic achievement?
A: Yes. Players are required to attend team study hall every training day unless excused due to a class schedule. The higher a players grades are, the easier it is to advance into collegiate hockey programs.

A: Training Ice; Showcases & Exhibition Games; Game Jerseys & Socks; Practice Jerseys & Socks; Professional Coaching; Off-Ice Training Program;
Q: What will players need to purchase from the team on-line store?
A: Black Helmet; Itech Face Mask; Black Hockey Pants; Black Gloves; Team Tracksuit; Workout T-Shirt; Team Sweatpants; Team Sweatshirt; Team Water Bottle
Q: If players already have black pants, gloves, and helmet do they have to purchase a new set?
A: No. If players already have suitable black pants, helmets, and gloves, that's acceptable.
Q: Will players be promoted to higher levels after the season?
A: The team will work diligently in efforts to advance players opportunities the following season through our vast network of relationships.
Q: Does the team billet out of town players & what is the billet fee?
A: Yes. Players are placed in quality homes with quality working professionals. Billet fees are $300-$350 per month.
Q: Can ride shares be set up for out of town tournament showcases?
A: Yes. Every out of town event will be thoroughly planned. Players that need to car pool and share hotel rooms will be taken care of.
Q: Does the team have holidays off?
A: Yes. Holidays are a time for family and rest!
