"CURRIE" TENDERS WITH NAHL WILKS BARRE KNIGHTS

Michigan Elite Brigade team member and Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central first team All-State Sr. forward Zak Currie was named Grand Rapids HS Player of the Year for 2016-17. Currie finished the season with 24 goals; 37 assists; for 61 points; in 24 games. Zac was the leading scorer in the MEBHL this past spring and recently tendered with the Wilks Barre Scranton Knights of the North American Hockey League.

HOWELL HS DICICCO EARNS NCAA OPPORTUNITY AT TRINE

Forward Max Dicicco an Elite Brigade veteran player is playing for Trine University NCAA Division 3 this season. Max was an All-State player and leading scorer at Howell High School. Dicicco was a solid fixture every spring for the Michigan Elite Brigade competing in the AAA tournaments.

GOSSELIN SUCCEEDING AT NCAA D1 ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE

D-man Kurt Gosslin from Brighton Michigan was awarded the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defenseman of the week award this past weekend. Gosselin  played Jr. A hockey for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League. Prior to playing Jr. A hockey Gosslin played under Coach Slater for the U18 AAA Detroit Falcons of the North American Prospects Hockey League.

KUCHAREK COMMITS TO WESTERN MICHIGAN NCAA D1

Former Michigan Elite Brigade U16 member Jared Kucharek a 5th round draft pick for the Omaha Lancers in the USHL committed to Western Michigan University NCAA Division 1. Kucharek a 6'3 1998 birth year defenseman played for Meijer U18 AAA last season before being called up to the Lone Star Brahmas in the NAHL. Jared finished the 2016-17 season winning the Robertson Cup Championship with the Brahmas.

COAST GUARD WINS BIG DOG AAA INVITATIONAL

The Michigan Elite Brigade Coast Guard Team won the 2017 Big Dog AAA Showcase going 5 and 0. The Coast Guard came from behind to beat a strong Air Force team in the final game to capture the trophy. The team is undefeated in league and showcase play this spring and won the MEBHL Championship last season.

"MURPHY" NAMED ANN ARBOR HS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Saline Sophomore defenseman Brendan Murphy will be honing his skills this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Murphy finished the 2016-17 season as the leader of the Saline Hornets team with 26 goals; 28 assists; & 54 points; earning him 1st Team All-State accolades and Ann Arbor HS Player of the Year.

HOWELL'S ALL-STATE "DAAVETTILA" SET TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Howell Highlander junior forward Russ Daavettila will be honing his skills  this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. During the 2016-17 season Daavettila scored 14 goals; 17 assists; and 31 points earning him Honorable Mention All-State status. During the 2015-16 season as a sophomore Russ was also an All-State player.

DE LASALLE STATE CHAMPION "DERATANY" TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Jacob Deratany senior forward for the division 3 State Champions; DeLasalle High School wil be preparing for Junior A tryouts this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Jacob a gritty two way player proved to be at his best in the State playoffs; scoring a big goal in the championship game against a strong Calumet High School team.

HONORABLE MENTION 'VANDENBERG" TO PLAY IN MEBHL

L'Anze Creuse Junior goaltender Jake VanDenBerg will be honing his skills this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. VanDenBerg finished among the top goalies in Michigan with a .928 save percentage earning him Honorable mention all-state status.

HONORABLE MENTION ALL-STATE "DETLOFF" TO PLAY IN MEBHL

University of Liggett Jr. defenseman Sean Detloff will be honing his skills this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Detloff an Elite Brigade veteran on the blueline is a 2000 birth year defenseman with a tremendous upside. His solid overall play at both ends of the ice earned him Honorable All-State honors this past season. 

ALL-STATE FORWARD "MCCURRACH" SET TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Ann Arbor Huron Sophomore Forward Nico McCurrach will be honing his skills this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. McCurrach finished the 2016-17 season as the leader of the Ann Arbor Huron Varsity team with 23 goals; 21 assists; & 44 points; earning him 2nd Team All-State accolades. Nico is a player to watch.

MEBHL "LUCAS" SELECTED TO PLAY FOR TEAM MICHIGAN

Trenton HS Captain; Senior Defenseman Kyle Lucas will be prepairing for Junior A Hockey this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Lucas an Elite Brigade veteran on the blueline is a solid defensive defensman with offensive capabilities. His leadership and consistant play earned him Honorable All-State honors this past season; and a selection to Team Michigan. 

ALL-STATE D-MAN "MULLALLY" SET TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Howell Captain Sr. Defenseman Steven Mullally will be preparing for Jr. A tryouts this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Mullally finished the 2016-17 season among the best defenseman in Michigan HS Hockey with 14 goals; 29 assists; & 43 points; earning him First Team Division 1 All-State accolades.

FIRST TEAM ALL-STATE "IGNATOVICH" TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Byron Center HS netminder Will Ignatovich will be preparing for Junior A tryouts this spring in the MEBHL. Ignatovich finished the 2016-17 season with a .949 save percentage the best in all of Michigan HS Hockey. Will earned first team all-state honors with his consistant performances.

HONORABLE MENTION ALL-STATE "BALOUGH" TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Southgate Anderson forward Senior Captain Tyler Balough will be preparing for Jr. A tryouts this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Balough a seasoned Brigade veteran scored 37 goals this past season and added another 24 assists to lead his team in scoring with 61 points. Tyler finished the 2016-17 earning Honorable Mention All-State status.

ALL-STATE GOALIE "NAIDOW" SET TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Grosse Pointe South netminder Devin Naidow will be preparing for Junior A tryouts this spring in the MEBHL. Naidow finished the 2016-17 season with a .927 save percentage earning him 1st team all-state honors. Devin was the only goaltender in Michigan High School Hockey to have beaten all three State Champions this past season. (Brighton, Brother Rice, De Lasalle)

ALL-STATE GOALIE "YOCKEY' SET TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Saginaw Heritage High School senior goaltender Danny Yockey will be preparing for Jr. A tryouts this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Yockey finished the 2016-17 season as one of the top goaltenders in Save Percentage (.929) earning second team all-state honors.

FIRST TEAM ALL-STATE "SMITH" SET TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Flint Powers Catholic Sr. F Brendan Smith will be preparing for Jr. A tryouts this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. Smith finished the 2016-17 season among the best in Michigan HS Hockey with 37 goals; 40 assists; & 77 points; earning him 1st Team All-State accolades. Smith made the 30 man roster for the Aberdine Wings in the NAHL this past summer and is now playing for the Lansing Wolves NA3HL squad.

ALL-STATE D-MAN "OSINSKI" SET TO PLAY IN MEBHL

Milford Captain Sr. Defenseman Michael O'Sinski will be preparing for Jr. A tryouts this spring in the Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey League. O'Sinski finished the 2016-17 season among the best defenseman in Michigan HS Hockey with 14 goals; 33 assists; & 47 points; earning him All-State accolades.

D-MAN KERANAN GAINING EXPERIENCE IN THE NAHL

Defenseman Jay Keranen a Brighton HS graduate and former Elite Brigade team member is playing for the Topeka Roadrunners of the North American Hockey League. Jay was a State Champion; All-State player at Brighton HS and member of Team Michigan.

FORMAN HOLDING HIS OWN IN THE NAHL

Mike Forman a Flint Powers Catholic Graduate and former Elite Brigade team member currently has 11 points in 23 games this season for the Amarlillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League. Forman was one of the few Michigan HS players drafted in the NAHL this past spring. Drafted in the 3rd round 47th overall; Forman finished his senior season at Powers with 65 points in 28 games; while also being named a first team all-state player and the Flint Journal Hockey Player of the Year. 

WOJCIECHOWSKI EARNS NCCA OPPORTUNITY

D-man JR Wojciechowski providing defensive leadership for the Rochester Americans of the United States Premier Hockey League; commits to NCAA Nazereth College for the 2015-16 season. Last season Wojo spent the year in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League competing for the Kindersley Klippers. Both the USPHL and SJHL are two of the premier Jr. A Leagues in North America. 

DEFENSEMAN RUSSELL MAKING HIS WAY IN THE CCHL

Defenseman Cameron Russell a product of Royal Oak High School is making his mark for Kemptville 73's of the Central Canadian Hockey League. The CCHL is a Tier 1 Jr. A League in the Ottawa Valley. Last season Russell played in the Western States Hockey League for the Ogden Mustangs. Prior to playing jr. A Hockey Cameron played for coach Slater at the Detroit Falcons U18 AAA team in the NAPHL.
