Throughout my career, I have been very fortunate to be exposed to some of the best coaches, players, and training systems offered to young players today. I'm extremely passionate about coaching and the development of players.

 

My goal is for every Elite Brigade athlete to gain a step on the competition from one season to the next due to quality competition, efficient skill development, and career exposure/ guidance.

 

Director: Slater: MSU NCAA D1, AHL, ECHL, British Super League, National Team, playing experience. Collegiate, Jr. A, Midget Major AAA coaching experience. Level 5 USA Hockey.

ASSISTANT HOCKEY DIRECTOR POSITION OPEN

The Michigan Elite Brigade Hockey Club is looking to fill an Assistant Hockey Director position opening. Potential candidates should have quality coaching experience; strong contacts/ knowledge of  Michigan High School Hockey; and have strong recruiting skills. MARINES "WARRIOR" U16 CHAMPIONS 2018

The MARINES Elite Brigade U16 team took home the Warrior Shootout Championship May 4-6th, 2018. The Marines team is coached by Paul Fazzbender the Head Coach of Saline High School varsity hockey team. The Marines are comprised of players from all over the state of Michigan. Strong goaltending and discipline play lead to the Championship run.

NAVY WARRIOR SHOOTOUT CHAMPIONS 2018

The NAVY Elite Brigade U18 team took home the Warrior Shootout Championship with a 4-2 win over the Windsor A21 Prepratory Academy. The Navy team is coached by John O'Leary and is comprised of players from the Metro Detroit South region. Strong team play and positive attitudes lead to the Championship run.

"WEBER" SCORES TWO IN CALL UP TO NCDC JR ISLANDERS

Michigan Elite Brigade veteran Josh Weber scored two goals in his first game for the NCDC Islanders Hockey Club. The National Collegiate Development Conference is a top level Jr. A league based in the United States. Weber a Plymouth HS hockey alum is one of the very few Michigan HS hockey players to play games in one of the top Jr. A leagues this season. 

"JOHNSON" TENDERS IN ALBERTA JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE

Michigan Elite Brigade veteran and Flint Powers HS Hockey alum is heading to the Alberta Jr. Hockey League for the 2018-19 season. Garrett a former member of Team Michigan is currently playing with Little Caesars U18 AAA team and will be ready to make an impact for the Drumheller Dragons next season.

"WITHERSPOON" TENDERS IN NAHL SHREVEPORT

Michigan Elite Brigade veteran and Flint Powers HS Hockey alum is heading to the North American Hockey League for the 2018-19 season. Connor a former member of Team Michigan is currently playing with Little Caesars U18 AAA team. Witherspoon recently played in the Central Canadian Hockey League 2 and will be ready to take the next step.

"CURRIE" TENDERS WITH NAHL WILKS BARRE KNIGHTS

Michigan Elite Brigade team member and Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central first team All-State Sr. forward Zak Currie was named Grand Rapids HS Player of the Year for 2016-17. Currie finished the season with 24 goals; 37 assists; for 61 points; in 24 games. Zac was the leading scorer in the MEBHL this past spring and recently tendered with the Wilks Barre Scranton Knights of the North American Hockey League.

HOWELL HS DICICCO EARNS NCAA OPPORTUNITY AT TRINE

Forward Max Dicicco an Elite Brigade veteran player is playing for Trine University NCAA Division 3 this season. Max was an All-State player and leading scorer at Howell High School. Dicicco was a solid fixture every spring for the Michigan Elite Brigade competing in the AAA tournaments.

GOSSELIN SUCCEEDING AT NCAA D1 ALABAMA-HUNTSVILLE

D-man Kurt Gosslin from Brighton Michigan was awarded the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Defenseman of the week award this past weekend. Gosselin  played Jr. A hockey for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the British Columbia Hockey League. Prior to playing Jr. A hockey Gosslin played under Coach Slater for the U18 AAA Detroit Falcons of the North American Prospects Hockey League.

KUCHAREK COMMITS TO WESTERN MICHIGAN NCAA D1

Former Michigan Elite Brigade U16 member Jared Kucharek a 5th round draft pick for the Omaha Lancers in the USHL committed to Western Michigan University NCAA Division 1. Kucharek a 6'3 1998 birth year defenseman played for Meijer U18 AAA last season before being called up to the Lone Star Brahmas in the NAHL. Jared finished the 2016-17 season winning the Robertson Cup Championship with the Brahmas.

COAST GUARD WINS BIG DOG AAA INVITATIONAL

The Michigan Elite Brigade Coast Guard Team won the 2017 Big Dog AAA Showcase going 5 and 0. The Coast Guard came from behind to beat a strong Air Force team in the final game to capture the trophy. The team is undefeated in league and showcase play this spring and won the MEBHL Championship last season.

UNIVERSITY OF LIGGETT "DETLOFF" CALLED UP TO NAHL

University of Liggett Jr. defenseman Sean Detloff got the call he was looking for this spring from the Wilkes Barre Scranton Knights of the North American Hockey League. Sean skated in two games and played well. Detloff an Elite Brigade veteran on the blueline is a 2000 birth year defenseman with a tremendous upside.

D-MAN KERANAN GAINING EXPERIENCE IN THE NAHL

Defenseman Jay Keranen a Brighton HS graduate and former Elite Brigade team member is playing for the Topeka Roadrunners of the North American Hockey League. Jay was a State Champion; All-State player at Brighton HS and member of Team Michigan.

FORMAN HOLDING HIS OWN IN THE NAHL

Mike Forman a Flint Powers Catholic Graduate and former Elite Brigade team member currently has 11 points in 23 games this season for the Amarlillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League. Forman was one of the few Michigan HS players drafted in the NAHL this past spring. Drafted in the 3rd round 47th overall; Forman finished his senior season at Powers with 65 points in 28 games; while also being named a first team all-state player and the Flint Journal Hockey Player of the Year. 

WOJCIECHOWSKI EARNS NCCA OPPORTUNITY

D-man JR Wojciechowski providing defensive leadership for the Rochester Americans of the United States Premier Hockey League; commits to NCAA Nazereth College for the 2015-16 season. Last season Wojo spent the year in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League competing for the Kindersley Klippers. Both the USPHL and SJHL are two of the premier Jr. A Leagues in North America. 

DEFENSEMAN RUSSELL MAKING HIS WAY IN THE CCHL

Defenseman Cameron Russell a product of Royal Oak High School is making his mark for Kemptville 73's of the Central Canadian Hockey League. The CCHL is a Tier 1 Jr. A League in the Ottawa Valley. Last season Russell played in the Western States Hockey League for the Ogden Mustangs. Prior to playing jr. A Hockey Cameron played for coach Slater at the Detroit Falcons U18 AAA team in the NAPHL.
